The TS-7260 is a compact full-featured Single Board Computer (SBC) based upon the Cirrus EP9302 ARM9 CPU, which provides a standard set of on-board peripherals. The EP9302 features an advanced ARM920T 200 MHz processor design with MMU. TS-7260 includes software power consumption control for on-board peripherals, making this board ideal for use in power sensitive designs, such as battery-powered systems. In addition, the TS-XDIO standard feature can be replaced by either 2 extra serial ports or an SD Card socket, which enables fast boot to Debian Linux from a SD Card.

Hardware Description

The TS-7260 specifically targets ultra low power applications such as solar or battery powered devices. It features an optional high-precision temperature sensor and the onboard ADC measures input voltage for battery or solar applications. The default configuration with no ethernet consumes 1/2 watt of power. A small UPS battery (12V / 7.2Ah) can power this board for up to 172 hours! Since the CPU has continously variable on-chip PLLs, it could survive even longer if you allow its internal clocks to slow down. Low power also means low heat - feel free to put this board in the most confined of places as it needs neither fan nor heatsink across its entire temperature range (-40° to +70° with CPU at 200Mhz; -40° to +85°C with CPU at 166Mhz or lower).

The TS-7260 features a high efficiency switching-mode power supply, which enables variable input voltage anywhere from 4.5 to 20V DC. In addition, it includes software controlled switches that are able to turn off USB 5V power, LCD power, ethernet PHY, RTC and RS232 level converters when not in use, reducing even more the power consumption. As with all our ARM products, low board complexity, low component count, and low power/heat makes for an extremely reliable embedded engine.

Users can pre-configure the TS-7260 SBC for optimum performance meeting their applications. The TS-7260 comes standard with the TS-XDIO feature, which provides more control functions for data aquisition and control systems. The TS-XDIO may be replaced by either the SD Card socket option (OP-SDSOCKET) or the 2 extra TTL serial ports option (OP-2TTLCOM). The SD Card socket allows more flash memory to be added via SD flash cards. In the near future the TS-7260 will be able to boot to Debian Linux from an SD Card. The 2 extra TTL serial ports option enables interfacing to external hardware. It is important to note that these options can not be simultaneously selected, meaning that only one of these features can be selected for a single TS-7260 configuration.
