The TS-8100 is a TS-SOCKET baseboard that provides an upgrade path for Technologic Systems TS-7250, TS-7350, TS-7370, and TS-7800 products. This board accepts any TS-4xxx macrocontroller. It interfaces to the macrocontroller via two TS-SOCKET standard 100-pin connectors and brings out the various ports to industry standard connectors. The TS-8100 is compatible with the TS-ENC720 enclosure.

Hardware Description

The TS-8100 provides industry standard connectors for the various ports and features on any of the TS macrocontroller products like the TS-4500, TS-4200, etc. It provides transceivers for the RS-232 ports, the CAN ports, and the RS-485 port. These are brought out to the male DB9 and .1" pitch header connections. It also has the Ethernet "magnetics," RJ-45 connector (second optional), USB connectors, SATA connector, and LEDs. Power input requirement is 5V DC to 30V DC. The TS-8100 features a 16-bit ADC for accurate sensor interfaces.

The TS-8100 has these ports available: *

  • 2 Ethernet (optional)
  • 4 USB device (2 external, 2 internal)
  • 1 SATA
  • 3 RS-232, 2 RS-485, 1 RS-422, 2 CAN Buses populated with 1 CAN Port. 2nd Optional CAN Port requires TS-4800
  • 16-pin A/D header, 14-pin LCD header, 16-pin DIO header

Additional features include the following:

  • 6-channel 16-bit A/D converter (0-2V and 0-10V ranges)
  • Battery backup for real time clock (Type: CR2032)
  • Two user programmable LEDs
  • Jumper for selecting boot method
  • Jumper for console enable
  • Jumper for CAN termination
  • *Compatible with TS-ENC720 Enclosure (Single Ethernet Port version only)
