Technologic Systems announces the release of two high-performance TS-SOCKET macrocontrollers, the TS-4800 and the TS-4700. These Computer-on-Modules are available immediately, raising Technologic Systems' standard for raw computing power in the low cost industrial embedded market. Using off-the-shelf baseboards, a drop-in upgrade path to 800MHz is now available for applications using the TS-72xx, TS-7350, TS-7370, TS-7390, TS-7395, TS-7553, and TS-7800. These releases complement the TS-4500 and the TS-4200, creating a diverse line of fully interchangeable credit card sized modules. Both of these new models have the following features:

The TS-SOCKET Standard

The TS-4800 and TS-4700 are both fully compatible with the TS-SOCKET Standard. TS-SOCKET is a modular embedded computing standard created by Technologic Systems emphasizing low cost, low power, and simple design. TS-4xxx series computer modules (macrocontrollers) require a TS-8xxx series baseboard to create a complete system. The form factor is 75mm x 55mm, the size of a credit card.

TS-SOCKET is an open standard. Designers can achieve a fast time to market for a future-proof product with low engineering costs and low per-unit costs by creating an application-specific TS-SOCKET baseboard. The TS-4800 and TS-4700 are ideal for any embedded applications that require high-performance calculations, a video display, or a human-machine interface. A TS-SOCKET baseboard can be designed in any legacy form factor, allowing for a drop-in upgrade for aging systems. Touch Panel Computers

The TS-4800 and TS-4700 are both ideal engines for a touch panel HMI. Technologic Systems currently offers two touch panel computers, the 10 inch TS-8900 and the 7 inch TS-8390. Both TPCs are available with either the TS-4800 or TS-4700.


Industrial Grade XNAND Flash

All TS-SOCKET macrocontrollers feature 256MB of XNAND storage. Technologic Systems XNAND is an ultra-reliable driver that uses Reed-Solomon codes, extra checksums, and a RAID-based technique to allow any filesystem to be used with confidence on SLC NAND flash.
