The TS-TPC-7990 is an ideal solution for applications that require a touch-based Human Machine Interface (HMI), including: industrial automation, medical, automotive, self-service kiosks, and retail point-of-sale terminals.
Each component on the TS-TPC-7990 has been carefully chosen to ensure reliable operation in the field. Solid connectors securely snap in and hold on. Data is reliably stored in the onboard eMMC flash, configurable as pSLC for further reliability or MLC for more capacity. The TS-SILO power reserve solution provided by the TS-DC799-SILO is an option that allows graceful shutdown to avoid filesystem corruption. The HALT verified, fanless design of the TS-TPC-7990 is able to withstand high vibration, and a wide temperature range touch screen interface of -20 °C - 70 °C (-20 °C to 60 °C for capacitive touch screen).
A productive out-of-the-box experience includes pre-installed Linux OS, development tools, and utilities for controlling DIO, UARTS, CAN bus, and more. The development kit makes sure you have all the necessarily connections and cables to get off the ground quickly. The guaranteed 10+ year lifecycle ensures a long-term deployment in the field, free from expensive replacements that come from short, disposable lifecycles which are all too common.

Applications with strict low power requirements will appreciate the work that's been done to reduce power consumption to less than 8 watts in typical conditions and down to 6 mW in sleep mode. Once in sleep mode it is possible to wake from sleep either by setting a wake timer, or by touching the display.
We've preloaded most everything you need to get your application up and running quickly, from utilities to read, write, and control the various interfaces to power management tools. Linux application development can be done on the device itself using preloaded GNU development tools such as GCC and GDB. Linux GUI development can be done using QT, GTK, and more. Application development can be done using familiar and easily installed interpreted languages such as Python, Java, C# (Mono), etc. In keeping with an open source vision, we have the source code, toolchains, and binaries freely available for download from the TS-TPC-7990 FTP repository and Github page. The TS-TPC-7990 offers an operating system choice of Yocto, Debian, or Ubuntu thanks in part to the well equipped U-Boot bootloader which can boot any of these operating systems from eMMC flash or microSD card. By default, Debian Linux is shipped.
New since May 2018: Debian 9 Stretch is now supported on all of our i.MX6 products, including the TS-TPC-7990. Images, drivers, and toolchains are available for download. For more information, visit the "Debian Stretch" section of the manual.
Debian Jessie is the preloaded distribution. Debian provides a massive repository of prebuilt applications and services as well as a long history of focusing on stability and support for the embedded market.
The Yocto environment is a powerful, stable, and familiar software stack, including common Linux tools and interpreters. With Yocto, we provide an x86/x86_64 cross toolchain which supports common onboard libraries and integrates with QT Creator, and other IDEs. Yocto is also available to take full advantage of the i.MX6 GPU providing simple integration with QT Creator and IDEs for rapid development.

Android™ Nougat 7.1.1 is available for the TS-TPC-7990. The distribution provided for the TS-TPC-7990 includes driver support for all of the available hardware interfaces, including many not available in the standard Android distributions.

The TS-DC799-POE daughter card enables you to conveniently connect your TS-TPC-7990 to a network and power it over a single Ethernet cable. It's complaint to IEEE802.3af/at standards. The TS-DC799-POE connects to the TS-TPC-7990 and receives PoE power and translates to an apporpriate voltage level for the device.
Not compatible with TS-DC799-SILO. These two accessories are mutually exclusive.
The TS-DC-799-SILO daughter card adds the TS-SILO super capacitor technology for 20-60 seconds of backup power in the event of an outage and protects from brown outs. This extra time gives the board time to gracefully power down and execute custom shutdown scripts to ensures file system integrity.
Not compatible with TS-DC799-POE. These two accessories are mutually exclusive.
The TS-CAB799 is a rugged, water protected (IP66) enclosed cabinet (aka distribution metering box) for the TS-TPC-7990. It measures 400mm (H) x 320mm (W) x 150mm (D) with powder coated galvanized steel thickness of 1.2mm and 1.5mm and a 1.6mm mounting plate. There are 4 hanging holes in the back of the enclosure, which is very convenient for installation by the wall mounting brackets. There is plenty of room inside the enclosure for other sensors or equpiment. Shipping weight is approximately 20lbs.
