Powered by the TS-4900 Computer-on-Module with it's NXP i.MX6 ARM solo or quad core CPU, the TS-TPC-8390-4900 is capable of hardware accelerated 3D graphics for attention-grabbing signage. It's just as much at home in a control and data acquisition environment with industry standard connectors and interfaces such as RS-232, RS-485, CAN, SPI, I2C, and GPIO brought out on the TS-8390 baseboard via TS-SOCKET connector. A 7" TFT WVGA resistive touch panel display with high brightness (800 nit) completes the solution. The TS-TPC-8390-4900 also has flexible data storage methods on the eMMC flash, providing SLC for high reliability or MLC for high capacity. A microSD card can also be used to boot from and/or store additional data, like a video playlist or data logging.
The TS-TPC-8390-4900 runs Linux, Windows Embedded Compact, Android, or QNX. Yocto with Linux Kernel v3.10 is installed by default and is configured to take full advantage of the hardware accelerated graphics and all other features of the TS-4900, like WiFi, Bluetooth, and Gigabit Ethernet. GUI development is made easy using Qt, GTK, DirectFB, and more. Familiar GNU development tools, like gcc and gdb, are also installed, making on-board development easy. Cross compile toolchains are also made available so you can develop using your favorite desktop IDE. Finally, as with most Linux distributions, other services like Apache Web Server, CGI-BIN, FTP, SSH, Telnet, Samba network services, etc. are available. An example CGI-BIN application has also been preloaded. Also included are utilities and applications to control DIO, SPI, and more so that you can get your product to market in record time.
As with all of our products, the source code, schematics, mechanical drawings, and manuals for the TS-TPC-8390-4900 are freely available for download in the resources tab. Customized products can be based on various combinations of many of the standard product features. There will be a one-time customization fee to cover the set up of your custom part number and production processes.
